Madam Fang Li and Dr. Li Lailai

On May 7th, 2018, the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) and World Resources Institute (WRI) signed Memorandum of Understanding on Long-term Strategic Cooperation in Beijing. Madam Fang Li, Assistant Secretary General of CCICED and Deputy Director-General of Foreign Economic Cooperation Office of Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Dr. Li Lailai, Chief Representative of WRI (USA) Beijing Representative Office, represented the two organizations and signed the MOU. 

Based on the MOU, the two sides will focus on some prioritized cooperation areas including Water, air and soil, Green “Belt and Road” Initiative, Ecological Restoration, Sustainable Urbanization, etc. and share Chinese experience with the rest of the world. Policy studies will be co-developed and communications will be conducted together in recognizing the need and importance of strengthening partner cooperation on CCICED in addressing a wide range of environment and development issues that are vital to the sustainability of China and globally.

Mr. Zhang Huiyong, Deputy Director of CCICED Secretariat, and Ms. Wang Qingjong, Operations Manager of WRI China, also attended the signing ceremony.
